Uprise is a discipleship program for young adults (ages 18- 25) who have a desire to be trained up and sent out to change the world for Christ. The Uprise program will start this fall in
September 2010 and go through the month of May 2011. It is a full time program. Uprise offers young adults the opportunity to set aside a school year to focus on hearing and obeying
the Lord’s voice so that they may be sent out into the world knowing who they are in Christ and what God has called them to do.
Why Uprise?
Uprise is a program to train and release the next generation to help a broken and hurting world. It is about a new generation of leaders serving Christ by going out and affecting the community around them. We are no longer going to conform to this world’s standards, but rise up and be transformed by the love of Christ! (Romans 12:1-2; Ephesians 4:20-24)
Areas of Focus:
- Being – Students will focus on figuring out who God has created them to be and what He is asking them to do. We understand that God is always refining us as we grow closer to Him, so we will be focusing on hearing and discerning the voice of God by reading the Bible, praying, journaling and meeting with a mentor.
- Thinking (learning) – Students will be taking a class at Canby Bible College that focuses on a single book of the Bible. This will help the students learn how to study God’s word and its meaning.
- Doing – Students will be involved in different areas of ministry. They will not just be focusing on one area of ministry, but many areas of ministry. Some of the ministries they will be involved with are youth, children, worship, and outreach.
This program is not just for students who want to go into full time ministry, but also students that want to be lawyers, teachers, construction workers, businessmen, etc. We want to send students out into the world with a strong foundation of knowing who Christ is and what He is calling them to do.
